How Many Modules Do You Need
On some computer systems, memory modules must be installed two-at-a-time
or four-at-a-time. For example, if you would like to add 16MB to a 486
system, you will need to purchase and install four 4MB modules.
The list below provides general guidelines; however, individual systems
can vary considerably. For example, some Pentium systems take SIMMs (in
pairs), some take DIMMs (individually), and some can take both.

Note: You should match the new memory with what is already in
your system. You can determine if your system requires parity by counting
the number of small, black, IC chips on one of your modules. If you have
2, 4, 8, 16, or 32 chips then you have non-parity modules. If your module
has 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, or 36 chips then you have parity modules.
